What are other great "accidents" of world history?

One of these great "accidents" was Columbus finding the New World. What are other accidents in world history that has been seen? I can't think of any except for accidents occurring in America like Rosa Parks' civil disobedience of forfeiting her seat to a white man, which lead to the Bus Boycott. Thanks in advance.
