A pop up that said i had viruses?

get off of web pages like that as soon as possible... those pages that pop up those things are trying to get you to click something to install ad-ware, spyware, or some other malicious software onto your PC... sometimes pages like that attempt to trick you, or block you from navigating away from the page, or allowing you to close your browser...
