What Can I do to recover Costs?

I had been accused of burglary, but the evidence and witnesses proved I was nowhere near the place. I had over $13,000 in attorney fees and additional lost wages of about $5,000. Is there anything I can do to recover these costs and start damage control on my reputation from the lies and rumors that were started because of this?
