Should i join the drumline at my high school?

ok so im currently a 10th grader and play trumpet in the marchingband. im pretty happy because im 4th chair and next year ill probably be able to play 1st trumpet. (playing second right now). my school has a semi-serious style drumline. we're not really good, but we're definetely not bad. we have 1 tenor, 2 snares, 4 b, and 2 cymbals. the whole b line is girls and the 5nd and 6nd b are available that the girls can't carry. so ive been practicing alot, and i can do paradiddles at 120, and some rolls, flams, and thats about it. ive been practicing since last year and i know ALL the cadences for b, and some for the snare. theres this guy on drumline, he plays snare, and even though he's not section leader, he really doesn't like me. should i still join? i would like to play the 5th b. i know all the warm ups and cadences and even some of the drummers from the line said i should join. so should i join? cuz i really like to trumpet too, but i feel like im gonna regret it if i dont join drumline. maybe drumline during marching season, trumpet during concert?
